It is advisable to have your GRANVILLE bike serviced regularly by your GRANVILLE dealer after the bedding-in phase, i.e. according to the GRANVILLE service and maintenance schedule. If you ride a great deal on poor road surfaces or on uneven ground, it will require correspondingly shorter service periods (see GRANVILLE service plan in the Quick Start Manual). The off-season during the winter months is a very good time to take your GRANVILLE bike to your GRANVILLE dealer for the annual inspection, as they will have plenty of time for you and for servicing.
The intended use of your GRANVILLE bike includes regular servicing and the replacement of worn out parts in time, e.g. chains, brake pads (c) or bowden and brake cables (d). This will ensure the safe functioning and therefore has an influence on the liability for material defects and the warranty.
For more information see the chapter «GRANVILLE service and maintenance schedule» and the manuals of the component manufacturers.
WARNING
Servicing and repairs are jobs best left to your GRANVILLE dealer. If you have your bike serviced by anyone else than an expert, you run the risk that parts of your GRANVILLE bike will fail. Risk of accident! When working on your GRANVILLE bike, restrict yourself to jobs for which you have the suitable tools, e.g. a torque wrench (e), and the necessary knowledge.
If a component needs to be replaced, make it a rule to only use original spare parts (f). Wearing parts of other manufacturers, e.g. brake pads or tyres that are not of identical dimension, may render your GRANVILLE bike unsafe. Risk of accident!
